What do we think about these throttle bodies?

Hi there, followed Big Wasa's advice and bought some bodies off ebay for £35. Got excited, because the description was for CB900 throtle bodies, but the piccy was GXSR600 TBs.

When they arrived, they are the CB900 Hornet ones. From a quick bit of research, the GSXR ones have 38mm bore, and the CB900 ones have 36mm bore.

My question is, are the CB900 ones going to be ok? I was thinking that Weber 40's ususally have a 34 / 36mm choke, so these should be at least as good?

Could someone just put my mind at rest!!

Cheers

Adrian

They will flow better than a DCOE40 even with the maximum choke size fitted so I wouldn't worry about it.

Are you aware you might have some real problems with these? Might be worth selling on and getting hold of something circa 42mm which is ideal.

The bike would run around 150-160bhp with margin to improve on this, should be good to around 200bhp I would have thought.

Because they are a little smaller you will get a better MAP signal drivability improved in the mid range etc. How often are you at 7000rpm foot hard down?

Also no secondary butterflies to rip out and can be spilt into two pairs.

"ideal" springs to mind.

They sound fine for a standard engine.

55mm per body! Holy moly!! That's seriously big. That's the recommended throttle body size for 160Bhp for a SINGLE THROTTLE BODY!!!!!!!
