Actually being useful Mr Whippy !
Generally the trumpets can be used from the original airbox, they just flex out. Thats what I'm doing with my R1s, theres no real need for the
stainless ones from all the build diarys I've read.

I would prefer just to use the originals from the airbox, but I don't have it (unless someone does have GPZ1100 airbox kicking around)

Whippy,
Thanks for the links, but this is meant to be LOcost builders site, £200 for a set of trumpets, surely there is a cheaper option than that.

K&N do some rather sexy individual cone filters...not exactly very trumpety but the induction noise is louder than the engine when you floor
it

Standard 45 dcoe ones will fit if the flange on the tbs is about 47mm, just connect them on with some silicone hose.

I put a set of R6 bodies on my 1.8 Zetec and used a set of 'long' trumpets as used on the R6 (they have two short/two long trumpets).
It runs well, the best thing was they were really cheap new, from a Yamaha dealer
Just a few pounds each

Any chance you could tell me the inner diameter of the trumpets?
