INDY BEC RIDE HEIGHT AND GAZ SHOCKS
After finding out tonight that i put my springs on the wrong way ie fronts on the back. Dumb arse!! I now need to setup the ride height. Whats
the ideal ride height front and back for my indy? Not worried about speed bumps etc.
Also im using GAZ shocks and they have around 45 clicks (settings) How do i know how many clicks to have them on??
175's Front
225's Rear

Hi afj,
If you can't find the rates for your springs it is possible to tell the rate from measuring the OD, the wire diameter and the number of coils. I
can let you have a spreadsheet for this if you want.
Cheers,
Mike

Depends whether you're car is used mainly on road or track. If mainly road, then surely you need to be concerned about speed humps etc
If used purely on track, then you can slam it as low as you want.

Mainly road use but i dont like the 4x4 look. I think i read somewhere about the wishbones being parallel? Is this right? Or doesnt it matter?

Hi Matt
The thing with the Indy is that the usual rules where people use the lower wishbones or pivot point's being level dose not really work on the
Indy's. what you have to do is load the car up in roll simulation and map out the camber changes. This is not the same on all the cars as it
depends on what ride height you are thinking of running. and the Dia of the tyres you are running.
Given that the camber control at both the front and the rear is not particularly good it means having to compromise and try to achieve as good as you
can control of the camber. This usually means running camber settings that are not found as standard settings on many other similar type cars. ( Bar
the Mac#1 ).
If you are at Snetterton the weekend I'll give you a bit more of an idea ect as it's a bit easier to explain with a car in front of you
than text only.
Cheers Matt
