kitten dyno results

ive had a few issues with the kitten since having the other engine in and had a dyno session a couple of months back which seemed to suggest that the car was over fuelling from 5-9k .the other big issue was getting the car moving which resulted in stalling one engine most of the time unless you lauch it with a good squirt of throttle which isnt much good for road use. i was thinking of going for pc,3,s but having to buy two then getting them both mapped was well over a grand until i stumbled across the nikko fuel adjuster which works on a lot of suzuki,s and just adds or removes fuel on low,mid and high range.

i managed to get a bike tuner in cradely heath to come to hi-tec,s rolling road in cradeley heath with his nikko box and we strapped the car down to do some power runs, after the first run the afr,s were so lean im surprised i havent melted a piston but it made 193hp at the wheels which is pretty much the same as it made at the last dyno place ,after a few simple adjustments the top end fuelling was sorted then working backwards the mid and low range were done . the final result was 225hp at the wheels and now the low end fuelling is right i can pull off without any drama .the nikko box guy charged me £60 and the dyno time was £250 so it worked out cheaper than the cost of a pc,3 which undoubtably would have given much finer adjustment but wouldnt have given any more peak power than the nikko box did , i dont know if this box will work on other makes but for the money its a bargain

opinion varies but an early tl1000 with the best ecu and injectors (basically the first model which people kept crashing and hurting themselves on ) should be around 120-130 hp and i can remember the launch of the tl, performance bike picked one up and took it straight to a dyno and it made 125 at the wheel. both my engines are early tl with the best ecu and injectors so it will be sending 250ish hp to the diff. now its running right i can get my nitrous system set up properly and start my quest for a 10 second 1/4 this year
