megasquirt advise

hi peeps, its been nearly three years since i installed MS and got engine started and running. Since then ive formatted laptop, question is can i just install megatune, connect to MS and press fetch from ecu and expect all setting/config files to be ok...if you get my drift?

sounds like another piece of software has hold of of the IRQ... like the internal modem... try disabling this......


may also be a speed problem on the port, try changing this to 9600.... try this first.

In theory then yes BUT as always the megatune version may conflict with the ecu version and also you'll need to configure to use the same ini file.
So you need to download the same version of megatune you originally had. And then activate the correct ini file ( the same as the one on your ecu. you will get a conflict message when you start megatune if they are not the same.)
OR download the newest version of megatune and update the firmware to the ecu using the jumper pins. Then reload your
msq file ( you have it saved somewhere don't you DON'T YOU???).
You'll still need to use the correct ini file to do this IIRC.

Best bet would be to download Tuner Studio MS. This can then detect the version of MS used and configure itself as such. Make sure any serial converters or ports are configured and drivers installed. It should work fine.
