Tin Top - Steering trouble, advise please
Hi All,
My daily driver (1999 clio 1.2 8v) has been serving me very well for the last 18 months. Does over 15000 a year and hasnt caused me any problems.
Last week or so though at full lock the car has felt and sounded like it was scrubbing (as in the wheels are too big etc) and there is also a big of a
mechanical clonking going on too.
this only happen at extreme full lock!
I have checked arch clearence lock to lock and there is loads of free room so deffo no scrubbing. could it be something more serious like bushes etc?
it is power steering btw.
any help or points to check would be fab, car cost me £1500 and its a utter dream to own and so so cheap, would like to see it go on and on and there
is no reason why it wouldnt as i look after her very well indeed.
cheers
kriss

Defo sounds like CV joints.
I have also heard of the same symptons being caused by a slack auxillary drive belt.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

My wife's Clio has actually snapped one. I'd seriously do it sooner rather than later.
