Mounting a normally vertical throttle body on its side?

Im in the process of fitting a micra engine into my mini and the huge cast inlet manifold wont clear the bulkhead.
The throttle body normally sits on top of the manifold and i was thinking of fabricating an inlet with the body on the end horizontally mounted.
The body has coolant pipes in/out that i think controls warm up idle speed as they pass through a cylinder with a pushrod upto the throttle spindle.
So if i keep them horizontal too so coolant still flows...
Do you folks in the know think this will work?

Cheers james

if its injection (as it would be for throttle bodies) then i don't see why not.

carbs have to be the right way up coz of the way they work, but injectors do all that job on efi, so yeah

You will probably get fuel distribution issues, the cylinders nearest the throttle body running rich, those further away running lean.

Thought it may be ok if i tapered it down towards the furthest cylinder as it is on my golf engine for instance which has the body mounted on one end. Also the injectors are right next to the ports on the head firing straight in as standard so was gonna stick to that and the standard manifold has unequal length inlets.
Was more concerned about the coolant flow through it tbh!

In that case it will be fine. I thought you were refering to a single point injection system where the injector is within the throttle body itself.
