Tin top problem

..well, actually a soft top, but same difference!

Golf on a T plate, 2.0 convertible with no spark. Single coil, not wasted spark.

It's got AC coming out of the 'points' but nothing to be found on the coil. King lead off and held near the block, not a whiff of a spark.

Any suggestions? Or anyone got a wiring diagram? There seems to be something between the points and the coil as the wire colours are different, but what? Could it be an immobiliser problem?

Well, not real points, hence the inverted commas. It's got some kind of electronic whatsit under the dizzy rotor.

Are you getting a pulse at the coil? Sounds like the coil has packed up to me

No. Getting nothing at the coil, hence why I don't think that's what's at fault.
