Mystery plug on my EDIS8

I'm wiring up my EDIS8 module and I came across this on pin 3, the SAW line. Any idea what it is, and can I just cut it off? It has the Ford logo on the black part, but no other identifying marks.

It's a connector thats used to cut the SAW from the ecu to the eddis. So you can check the ignition advance with just the eddis running the ignition.

Remove it....
