Some advice needed.

After deciding to go down the efi route I would like use two 40DCOEs to make the TBs, in order to keep the retro look.
Anyone any idea what sort of price I should be looking to pay for a pair that are past it as carbs, without being taken to the cleaners?

£100 for knackered ones.

But surley it would be easier to use some throttle bodies. A lot of mods would be needed.

Infact I have just the thing sitting in my garage. A set of R6 throttle bodies, look like bike carbs, no injectors though these are easily available. Easy to respace and yours for £50.

Might be better and cheaper to find ex Alfa Romeo Solex or Dellorto carbs than destroy DCOEs

I have a pair of Solex ADDHE C40's, look very similar to DCOE's, yours for £35 +post, I'll take and post pics if you're interested.

For a little extra I can remove the inner venturi fuel inlet and bore the whole thing smooth.

Cheers guys. Ain't this forum great?

David, thank you so much for the offer, a bargain but I have a set of TBs off a 600 Suzuki, I just fancy a retro look in the engine bay, without the aggravation of carbs.

Pete, Sounds good to me. I am very interested and would like to see some pics.
I will be away in the morning but back home on Thursday.
Cheers once again guys.
Your input is as appreciated as much as it is needed.

Edited to correct the typo's. Damn these hands!

I'm thinking of something similar .... ok identical.

The issue i've got to resolve is putting the injectors into the inlet manifold. Once i've figured that i think i'm sorted.

(i was wondering about making my own mild steel inlet manifold, i then moved onto just making a griffin inlet manifold and saying sod it - currently i'm somewhere between the two ideas)

Just weld the alloy injector stubs onto a suitably drilled, DCOE alloy manifold.
That's what I plan to do anyway.

A couple of pics, but spotted they aren't a pair, so probably no good to you, they have the same dimensions, just some subtle differences, the pilot screw shrouds for one thing.
