Advice on setting map values in MS2
Anyone with a boosted engine able to shed some light on setting map values for the VE, AFR and Advance tables?
Max and min values are easy. What I am after some advice on is how I should spread out the bins in between. Where should I concentrate to give higher
resolution on a boosted engine?
I am expecting a relatively linear increase in boost with rpm, so around 6-7psi at 4000rpm and 15psi at redline.
So even when cruising theres going to be some level of boost so am I right in thinking that the map signal will be over 100kpa or am I still going to
see a vacuum on the valve side of the throttle plates?
Thanks,
David

Any boost that the engine/manifold sees will show as over 101.325 KPa so if you are indeed getting boost at cruise you should see it in the run data
from the map sensor.
On my Jolt running MAP, the recorded runtime data whilst a little confusing at first it gave me rev points and KPa's to look at.
Let us know what you do, looking at Squirt myself now.
