a complete lack of understanding, I think

need some advice, i'm considering changing from and dizzy and twin 40's on a 1740 crossflow to a complete electronic system.

i have a set of 34mm inlet throttle bodies complete with injectors et.c. (from an 04 zx6) and i realise that there is a lot more to get.

my understanding is that i'll need a custom inlet maniford, megajolt / squirt, timing wheel and sensor.

what else?

All you need is a megasquirt ECU, trigger wheel, inlet manifold and some temp sensors.

Thats about it.

It's an xflo -- either leave it completely classic 1960s/70s spec or stick a silver top in.

Hmm... After Rusty Nuts put bike throttle bodies and a Emerald ECU, with Coil Pack Sparks, on his 1600 Xflow, it made the world of difference.

Now.... I can easily out accelerate his 1600 Xflow with my mighty V8 Viento.

However, After he modded the Xflow, and had it mapped by Dave Walker (who writes in PPC mag), its a LOT Smoother, and runs a LOT better, and SOUNDS a lot nicer.
Whats more, I have to push that much harder to catch / out accelerate him.
OK, I can still do it fairly easily, BUT... I noticed the difference in the performance of his car.

So the upshot is its well worth doing. BUT.... Do it properly, get it mapped properly, and you will be surprised at the results.

Mind you sticking a 2.0 litre Silvertop in, and then injecting and mapping that will be even better!
