MGF fuel pump size?

Sat in the office and drawing out a fuel tank whilst listening to radio 4 (i'm that busy waiting for redundancy)

Does anyone know how big an MGF (also I think other rovers) integrated fuel pump / swirl pot / fuel level unit is? I've got one at home but its now good there when i need sizes now.

Most interested in the actual OD of the swirl pot size & how much the fuel filter mesh sticks out the side. Also interested if anyone has it of the OD of the top of the neck that pushes into the tank (ie how big a hole i need).

And the answers are ....

The swirl pot a cylinder thats 10cm OD / just smaller than 4"

If you include the fuel level sender float its actually a 10cm OD circle with a float that sticks out to 14cm. I didn't measure the float but at a guess its about 1" wide. I didn't measure the arc it goes through so it may need an extra couple of cm's width.

From the bottom of the swirl pot to the top is approx 20cm.

From the bottom of the swirl pot to the top of the mounting its around 50cm - but from the top of the swirl pot to the top of the mounting is a sliding sprung arrangement that compresses an estimated 15 + cm (i didn't measure it).

The cap that mounts at the top with the fuel in, fuel out, power, float level and something else (breather?) is internally approx 9cm, od approx 13cm. From the initial ID of 9c you have a 2.5mm lip and then a 6mm additional bit. Appreciate this doesn't make a lot of sense, i'll hopefully post a photo or two later.

Right, thats my question answered and someone else can reference it later. Overall a nice integrated fuel injection unit.

I'll be interested in some detailed photos.....I need an efi pump on my spitfire, and a nice in-tank setup is so much neater than external stuff.
So I should be able to cut a hole, and then some sort of seal and bolt it in? Sweet!
