Omex 500 ECU
Does anyone have any experience of the Omex 500 ecu, I assume its been superceded by the 600 series which I've seen in the group buy
post...I'm seriously interested in getting into that if I'm not too late but have come across a cheap 2nd hand 500 and am now torn!
How much better is the 600, what will it do that the 500 won't, its for a n/a xe engine, advice needed, should I gamble just to save £75 or
not??

The difference between the 400 and the 600 only really comes into effect when supercharging or turbo.
Personnaly £75 dont seem worth the risk unless you know its a good condition and does actually work.
600 allows for growth incase you feel the need for extra speed!!

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

An Omex 500 is an old version of the 600.
If you can get it cheap enough, we can get this upgraded for you to a 600 spec, with no charge apart from the postage. You could end up with a cheap
ECU this way.
This is another reason why Omex is a good product.

I've just fitted a 500 ECU, Please tell me more of this upgrade?
The 500 seems ok, just the lack of outputs seems to hinder it.

it gets upgraded to a 600 board and v70.0 chipset.
your current map file can also be adapted to run on the 600.

That sounds great, i may take you up on that one, plus i've not got 100% confidence in my rolling road operator at the minute. A blat round the
M25 would be a great day out to get it finally mapped.

Just thinking, will this require a rewire as the plugs are different on the 2 ECU's?
Also if so, would you be able to do a drive in drove out service?
Cheers Dan.
