Pedal box support
All
I have a shiny new floor mounted pedal box on it's way from Comp Brake.
http://www.compbrake.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=985
On the base of the pedal box is a cut out for the lower chassis rail, which is fine. However other than this rail I have an ali floor and bulkhead, so
the pedal box is going to need some support. Anyone faced this and how did they get around it?
My thoughts are:
1. Replace the bulkhead with steel and mount the pedal box to that
2. Put in some sort of steel support on the bulkhead and keep the ali panel
3. Make up some sort of frame that bolts to the pedal box and the chassis
Any thoughts appreciated.

I installed 4 off m6 rivnuts in the front lower chassis rail, i drilled 4 holes in the pedal box that lined up and bolted it on that way. It seems
very secure although my car hasnt gone through IVA yet.
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Do you mean it is only supported on the one chassis rail? Does the rear "face" of the pedal box butt up to an ali panel?

I have thought about something similar actually.

Yes mate that is correct, although on my car the front plate is steel, but it isn't supporting the pedal box in anyway.

Hi
I'm going for option 2 by welding an additional horizontal chassis member to the front of the footwell coincident with the top of the pedal box.
The panelling will be in aluminium alloy.

You will need more support than you have then; if it's only fixed by the chassis rail and nothing else then a good hard push on the pedal is
going to try and pivot the whole assembly forwards.
