upgrade from carbs

Hi I am planning an upgrade from the carbs on my 1.6 pinto. I have got throttle bodies and was planning to fit standard ford sierra injectors. My idea was to the upgrade progressively initially using them with a basic ford set up and then eventually moving them to a megasquirt set up

but my question is associated with what parts do I need to in a basic ford set up to drive them? I am assuming that I weill need an EDIS 4 coil pack ,an uprated fuel pump, lamba sensor, toothed wheel for timing and an ECU. Have I missed anything?

Does the ECU need to be a 1.6 or will a 2.0 do?

The problem with fitting the standard Ford fuel injection set up are,,,,
Inlet plenum to tall and will stick up past bonnet line.
The Ford ECU is set up for 2.0L fueling, so will over fuel.
Probably better to get all the bits and dummy build the system, use the Megasquirt with Extra code for spark, bench run it with JimStim

Thanks It is just that I am a little daunted by the mega squirt and i thought that the standard set up would introduce less variables at one time.

I upgraded from carbs to EFI with MS and wish I'd never bothered.
I could have saved hundreds of ££ and hours and hours of time just by getting the carbs jetted properly.

IMO efi is only worth the bother if your looking for way over 200bhp. Bike carbs are more than able to get up there.

Hi,
Im afraid you wont be able to use the Ford ECU with throttle bodies, you will need to use an after market ECU from the start. Probably worth starting with ignition control using an MS or something like that then move to fuel control once you have a good handle on it,
