Fuel pump
Can anybody suggest what fuel pump I should use with my 2001 blackbird engine? Will any external fuel injection pump work?
Thanks

i bought a facet fuel pump off ebay and then a pressure regulator to go on my gpz900, or try contacting honda and asking what they would reccomend as
a replacement pump.

Thanks. I think the fuel rail has a regulator built onto it so it's just the pump.
What type of facet pump did you use? Honda just tell me to use the original pump from the bike tank but I already have a fuel tank and don't
fancy cutting a hole in the bottom of it.
I had a look under a couple of cars at Stoneleigh show with bike pump under tank and the seemed dangerously close to the floor!!!!!

Think you might struggle to get the engine running on that pump due to it being a LOW PRESSURE CARB pump NOT injection?

Seemed pretty clear he asked initially about a pump for injection. T be fair your second post didn't mention carbs so unless youknow Facet pumps
are for carbs it's fair to assume you were refering to inj to answer the initial Q.
Any tin-top external pump will do. They all provide roughly the same prssure but some have greater flow rates than others and the
inlet/outlets/terminals differ. I'm running one from an Escort RS Turbo (bosch 0 580 464 070).

Bike carbs would need the lowest pressure Facet Solid state pump.

My post with the referance to "tin-top pump" is with regard to the OP's question, assuming he has Fi. I don'tknow if presure
reg would cope with a high presure pump, as Fi pumps put out circa 3bar. You'd be better off to use a low presure pump (like a facet) of the
correct presure, or a low presure pump and regulator. EAOE

You'd need to check the tech' manual for the carbs and then compare with the pump, but chances are you'd need a reg'.

Sorry, I didn't mention it is a fuel injected engine!! My fault!! I was going to try the rs turbo pump because it seemed the most straight
forward to fit?
