Megasquirt & O2 Sensor

Just planning the Megasquiret install, is anyone succesfully running without an oxygen sensor? I've read in the manuals there is an option to go without, but looking for any experiences.

Cheers.

Pete

All I can do is plan, USPS get it from Atlanta to East Mids in 2 days, 5 days later still waiting on parcelforce telling me how much duty to pay

I wouldnt worry about parcelforce, thats normal.
It took 11 days to get mine,i eventually got a letter telling me
they wanted £42.50 before they would let me have it.
I rang the no and payed straight away and then collected it an hour later.

The vat was 28 quid, there was no duty as it was under the threashold. The rest was parcelforce's fee.

Andy.

I run mine with EGO correction turned off, had it mapped on a rolling road and will just leave well alone.

I did tune using a JAW wideband, not very successful when turbo'd it worked well enough when n/a.

The WB cost £125, the rolling road £150, I would spend the money on a RR now given the choice and not bother with the WB, once mapped you can then run a cheap narrowband sensor if you want some correction.

It will run fine without a lambda, and I don't bother with the lambda probe for day-to-day running (although you can set it up to automatically alter fueling to get a certain AFR).

If you don't mind paying for a rolling road session (or multiple sessions), and don't plan to change your engine after that then going without a lambda is an option.

For me, I like changing stuff, different throttle bodies, different head, different engine, add a turbo, so being able to retune is a good thing and the cost of a lambda sensor isn't too bad really.

Impossible to road tune without it, but once tuned it's really not that much of an issue unless you modify things.

Thanks for the advice folks, it sounds like the rolling road is the best VFM.

Cheers.
