What about this for a filter??

Pre pump low presure filter for those of us with 15mm id pipe. It has a 400 micron?? stainless mesh inside. What do you reckon??

That's a different idea and locost, i think i would rather have one with hose tails, inline Y filter 1/2" £3.30 + hose tails. Cat 40 page 291.

...Bit of a heavy old clanker though don't ya think?.....

Are we talking central heating or for the car?

15mm id hose?? ...wow, that's massive.

There's all sorts of blinged-up versions out there....admittedly 15mm won't be an option. They're all around 3-6 quid ish

400 micron will stop small birds and children...but not much else!

I've been looking for something locost as an inlet filter with 12mm or 1/2" tails and so far the best is about £9 each +£9 delivery (spec is apparently a crop sprayer with a 6.7litre Cummins diesel - so should be fine..). Unless anyone finds anything better, anyone up for a little group buy?

For some reason they hadn't popped up in my searches - maybe they weren't on there a week ago? Anyway - that'll do me nicely..

My pump inlet is 15mm Id so I'm having to use plumbing parts as they seem to be the only 15mm available. Especially as I need a reducer to get it down to 8mm for the tank. 400 microns is a bit big then? I was just looking for something that didn't restrict the flow to the tank too much.

What fitting is on the pump inlet ....? 15mm ID seems really big. Put a pic up...I'm sure we can work something out that's more standard

Only you and the Emma Mærsk are using 15mm

I'd like to see the kit car chassis to take that little engine.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Its a Bosch pump. Believe its from a cosworth. definitely 15mm as I measured it up with some calipers. I've come across threads with others who have had the same problem. The only solution I have found is plumbers pipe. There must be a tidier solution?

Well if it is a Bosch and indeed for a Cosworth then it should be either a Bosch 040 or 044. They are in the region of 300LPH and will require a 100micron pre pump filter and ideally you should also use a 40micron post filter
