Bosch 070 Fuel pump

I got a Bosch fuel pump for my Duratec convertion.

It's an external pump that seems to be able to support 350hp. Rated at 130lph at 3.0bar.

I modified my fuel tank to fit a small sump in the middle but keep the outlet from the top of the tank.

I dont' know now if these pump is able to suck fuel about 12" height... because I don't want to modify the tank to fit the outlet from the sump (would need modification at the back of the car)

Thank you!

Your pump needs to be gravity fed from the bottom of the
tank.It wont work very well at all if its expected to lift fuel from the
bottom of the tank.
You will need to weld an outlet on the bottom of the sump and
mount the pump/filter at the same level as the bottom of the tank.

The only way that that would work,is if you fit a low pressure lift pump that supplies a swirl pot, then your high pressure pump from the pot.

Agreed, the pump has to be below the tank or it will burn out.

I understand that. The problem is that I don't feel comfortable with the pump hanging below the chassis. Maybe I should make some kind of protection.

I already have a Facet fuel pump to use it as a lift pump but I prefer to simplify the plumbing and run only one pump.

Thank you very much.

It doesn't need to be below the chassis, level with the bottom of the tank is fine, as long as you run with more than an inch of so of petrol, most of us run around half full theres plenty of gravity to keep the pump primed...

WARNING! Do not drill a hole in the diff where I have, I thought it was a thick part out on the bottom mount but is now a drain plug.....

The wire feeding your pump looks very small? i use 2.5mm (1.5mm will do-just)
