steering rack extensions
OK Guys and Girls,
I could spend the next day or two trawling the internet but instead I will just ask yourselves, mainly as the combined knowledge and contacts on
locostbuilders is a far more powerful machine than google search!
I have a customers MNR in for some work, it is fitted with alloy steering rack extensions which I want to replace with steel ones (not keen on the
alloy idea) Does anyone know where we can source steel extensions for escort racks, tried R.D but they dont do thm except in alloy
many thanks
Andy

Steering Extension
If you take the ones you have to a local decent fabricator, could they not replicate them in steel?
Just a thought, I know that my MNR had the alloy ones fitted, and were made of a decent type of alloy.
Why do you feel they need replacing?
Have you had them fail in the past? (Strip threads?)
Cheers
Nick

Alll the ones I have ever seen have been alloy, I never really considered the strength of them.
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Mine are steel and I got them from Westfield. Price wise they were on a par with everyone else.

I would rather have steel, stronger and fatigue resistance. How many road cars do you see with alloy tie rods...

mie are alloy and one has bent, so changing for steel. Different car though with mid engine which means less weight at the front so in my opinion
should have been ok.
