Sierra standard rack to Escort quick rack...
I've got a shortened and sleeved Sierra standard steering rack currently and want to go to a quick rack; 2.4 preferably.
Using the Sierra uprights and ball joints, is it possible to use an Escort rack with the lower 2.4 as I can't seem to find a Sierra one with
this ratio...
What would be necessary to do this conversion?
Ta,
Chris.

If the shortened Sierra rack is the same width, ball joint to ball joint, there would be no problem.

Is a 2.7 LTL a useful upgrade?
Would I always want a 2.4 if I got the 2.8?
Is standard 4.1 or similar?
Sorry not with the car at the moment...
Chris.

Standard Sierra is 3.9 or there abouts
I think the Escort rack is shorter and therefore the track rod pivot point will move inwards affecting bump steer, Sierra rack and pinion will fit
straight in to your existing set up.
2.4,to 2.8 not a lot of difference
