Mmm prob wouldn't go there I would fit a billet sump from an performance as we did and had no issues on track,

When I bough the mnr with the zx14 it had a modded sump but when I took it off to inspect it was not great and can see hwhy the engine seized up,

Just my opionion others will follow I'm sure?

I agree with an expensive lump like that I wouldn't take any chances.

You've got time Lenny - look at importing from Schnitz or the likes.... Save some good money doing that

But you'll also need a remote filter kit to use that sump

HI folks thanks for your comments
Paul I have the adaptor for the oil filter/cooler, plus inline filter housing .oil cooler, NB engine now in place and mounted

when I look at the billet sumps I still think that cutting existing sump and extending then adding baffle plate would more or less be the same as a billet
did this on the ZX12 with no problems???

Sounds like a plan. Big engine to starve of oil (like I did) but have heard of a few running fine with billet but not heard of any diy's but this is locostbuilders. Just depends how much it will cost you to get it all welded up rather than £500 from the states.

With the engine in, how much does the sump sit below the chassis rail? Schnitz sell a chopped sump, you might get some ideas from it

Paul hi I would do all the welding and fabrication myself , ex fully coded welder you know!!!
engine sump pan the flat flange where the bolts are is about 15mm above the bottom rail
still not sure about welding the sump not for any other resaon that when you cut off the filterhousing there wont be any flat area in the location to weld an extension on easily?
