FPR for 2.0 Zetec GSXR TBs

I have asked before, but now ready to finish off my fuel lines, was going to buy a FPR from AT Power, Wymondham. Advertised at £45 but when you go to check out it changes to £48.50, then the carriage is £25 with no other option + vat takes it up to £80 ish....
Any other options folks?
Found loads for carbs but injected stuff seems so much more ££

Or perhaps I'm just being A tight B*****.....

Any adjustable fuel reg for injection should be OK. I spent a few minutes in eBay and got a second hand one for £25 delivered.

This'd be OK

I would say be careful in buying cheap ones on eBay, I had one and when mapping on a RR session wouldn't hold a steady pressure and failed just as mapping was finished, ended up replacing it with a Sytec one which was £80,
As for £25 delivery that's steep, rather than just go on line try and phone them direct

I just looked on AT web site and the £45 price is excluding vat and they show UK delivery as £3.50? But must say they visually appear same as cheap eBay ones, but assume they happy selling them so might be different quality

Get a fixed 3.5 bar one....job done. No real need for adjustble ones at all.

Jeff, Hmmm thought I would need one to assist setting up with MS for IVA etc ?

Most of the build threads I have looked at seem to have adjustable......

Educate me please !

An adjustable one isn't needed. Any mapper, if the fuel pressure is fixed, should be able to map to the fuel pressure that your regulator is generating.

I'm still in the buy a decent second hand one on Ebay - the one I linked you to is less than £30.

I run a zetec on GSXr throttle bodies. The fuel pressure on mine is 3 bar but I can adjust it if necessary. Assuming you get the car mapped (which I highly recommend you do) then the emissions etc will all be taken care of at that time.

Dave,

Thanks, what exactly are you running?

ST170 manifold & Injectors?
Megasquirt?

Is the FPR just linked in-line after the fuel rail?
Is it linked to the vacuum take offs on the GSXR TB's

Hi mate,

ST170 plastic manifold (home-ported) and ST170 injectors and fuel rail.
Then joined to the GSXR bodies with silicone hoses. (The bodies were spaced by me).
Then a back-plate and trumpets from STEngineering in Bradford (FASTdan on here I think).

The management is MBE. I got it running, balanced and idling by myself and then took it to be mapped at Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield.

The FPR goes at the end of the rail and then returns to the swirl-pot (in my case) - would return to the tank if you didn't have one.

The vacumn line on my FPR is not connected. The vacumn lines on the TBs simply link to each other.

I got the 'how to fit bike TBs to a zetec' guide from here and literally used it step by step. It's really helpful:

unfortunately all the images and photos have now gone

Dave,

Brilliant, I have used various ''how to guides'' but of course the more you look the more conflicts.
Good to find someone with a 7 running the same and recently been through IVA (yes i have been monitoring your journey)

I have ST170 inlet/rail/injectors - home ported, but mounted on the original bike inlet rubbers.
Spaced by me, GSXR TBs
Bracing bar from TBs to block as heard stories of them working loose.
I have a sump on the fuel tank, so it will be a straight return from the rail then..

Did you block off the pressure regulator thingy in the middle of the fuel rail?

Hmm better have a hunt for the vacuum pipe connectors then :-)

Is MBE like Megasquirt?

Glad you followed the journey - probably easier reading about it than doing it

It is worth noting however that, for my IVA, I didn't have TBs on as it was running standard management.

I will nip in to the garage tonight and take some proper photos for you of my setup and then you can see where everything sits (they should be in my archive now anyway really).

mbe is an aftermarket management system, like megasquirt but mass-produced; therefore there are less 'plug and play' features with that. The principal is the same though.

are you planning of having your car mapped properly? Do you have a TB balancer?

As I was intending to run Megasquirt, I was hoping to get it through IVA myself, then put it on a rolling road for mapping afterwards.

Not got a TB Balancer

you will need a syncronometer

Dellorto Weber synchrometer carb. balancer tool made in Germany not China!

I'd strongly suggest getting it mapped first, will make emissions a fek load easier!

As jeff has said, you need a syncrometer. I have one I could lend
