Cannot tell you what the numbers mean, but if you are after an upgrade the 2.0 litre standard cam is better than the 1.6, personally I found 270
duration camshaft to mild so next upgrade would be a 285.

To be brutal the only good upgrade for a Pinto 1.6 is to fit a 2.0L
It'll take good money to get a 1.6 up to 2.0L bhp

38dgs is far too big on a 1.6 pinto!

I found a 38/38 a bit big. I have a spare going very cheap if you want one though.

do you mean a '205' block ?
and yes transit engines are normally low CR engines - but the block is the same, you just need the HC pistons

Polishing means nothing
Ports are already big but removing the valve guide cast lump helps
How big are the valves?
What compression are you running?
You could check valve lift with a DTi gauge against standard and measure lobe centres, that'll give you a start point
Do you have vernier pulley fitted? If not he cam will most likely be standard

Fit a 2.0l cam shaft. It turns it into a 1.6GT. Thats what ford did, along with 2.0L valves.
