Fuel pump
I have recently been doing a lot of work on my F27, attempting to get the new blacktop Zetec running right.
I have noticed that lately the fuel pump seems to be really screaming, and looking at the gauge its pushing nearly 5 bar!
What could be causing this? Is it a sign the pump is on its way out?
Thanks,
Liam

Injection pumps can deliver more than 10 bar. The system pressure is controlled by the regulator. Is it an adjustable type?

I don't think it's adjustable...

pumps running full bore can be down to the pressure relief 'circuit' flowing straight back to the tank, and may need some
'restriction' to lower the flow. the pump will slow as its output pressure is higher.

I'll get some pictures today...
It's almost as if there is a blockage somewhere and the pump is trying harder and harder to pump fuel.
Will pull the lines today and see if I find anything

I tested my line by blowing air through them, I also checked the regulator the same way,. 3 bar is 45psi so easy with a bike pump

I had a play around with the regulator today, looks like the adjuster was loose... Hopefully sorted now
