Fury ride height
Hi Guys,
Took my Fury out today for a shaake down run to test the brakes gears etc and although it was quite a bumpy road I was finding I was bottoming out
quite alot to the point where I have given my sump a bit of a grounding out.
What sort of ride height are you guys running. I have the ProTech shocks and the collar is wound quite far down so I guess I need to run this up a bit
to give me the extra ground clearance.
Also when on full lock the right front tyre is rubbing on the headlamp housing bodywork part, will this also clear once I have raised the ride height
do you think?

I'm not sure if it's any help but I've got a stylus so similar chassis to the Fury but with a live rear axle ( mk2 escort )
The front lower corner chassis rail is 125mm off the ground, 11" protech dampers revalved by procomp, 250lb springs, rear are 220lb springs
again protech dampers revalved by procomp

Hi Martin,
Just checked and I have 120mm at the front lower corner.
Initially I had my dampers at the softest setting.
When my corner weights and suspension were set up, they were adjusted 5 clicks. (Spax units)

Sounds like mine is too low then as I think it's about 90mm.the springs I have maybe too soft as well 220 front and 180 rear on Steve's
recommendation.
I'm hoping that raising the ride height will stop the front right from rubbing as well.

I just wanted to know how it goes with your fury.
Now it's been a while for you to complete it.
Are you satisfied with the car?
and the engine?
and very challenging to drive?
and very rigid on the road?

mine was like yours and ground away the back of the headlight bowl. I modified them slightly and wound the suspension up. The next step is to fit the
LED lights and trim the back of the bowls then I can reset the ride height

Hey Sami, yep everything is going great and really enjoying the car, when I get a chance to go out in it just need some decent weather now. The
handling is still a little pointy for me so I plan to visit a specialist to get the handling spot on for my liking sometime soon.
I have also just fitted some new LED headlamps which should be a great improvement over the original units which were useless to be honest.
The engine is fantastic, really reliable and pulls great and just keeps going in every gear, always puts a smile on my face.

I had wound my suspension up but it does still rub slightly when I have full lock on and press the brakes hard. With the new LED lamps fitted I have
had to mount the bowls on the rear side of the bodywork which will make it slightly worse but as the LED units do not go that far back I may just trim
the bottom off and make a fibreglass version that won't rub.

let's say something I did,
I'm not at this point in here I was hoping to be but all in all at least until now it seems that everything is good.
since Photobucket has made problems I did not know how to post more photos ....
do you have a good alternative to Photobucket?

There is an extension to fix this if you use Chrome as your browser, its called Photobucket Hotlink Fix. I can view your previous images in your build
