ECU Setup
After some opinions and what has worked well for others in the past!
Currently building a Speeduino ECU to use with my 1800 zetec with bike TB's.
I was intending to go fully sequential as i have the cam position sensor already in the head. I have got some COP units too.
Question is, the only advantage i can find of going fully sequential is emissions, slight improvement in economy and a slightly smoother tick over.
Is it best going down the fully sequential route, or do COP with wasted spark and batch fire injection? The ECU can run fully sequential, but not sure
if the setup etc would be more hassle than its worth?
Do i ditch the COP units and just use the VW Lupo coil pack and use that with the wasted spark setup?
Thanks in advance!

Less wiring using a single coil pack , COPs seem to fail more often in my experience. Swings and roundabouts?

I went down the coil pack, semi sequential route, it is working very well

so wasted spark and sequential injectors?

Just read further on the different types in more detail. So semi-sequential is batch fire, but timed via the cam trigger to be more precise.
Think this is the best route to go tbh, the details i read said over 25% rpm fully sequential offers no benefit etc anyway.
Just COP wasted spark or coil pack wasted decision next.....probs coil pack as it will be simplier!

COP coils tend to suffer from overheating --- small size reduces the spark energy they can store and release.
The Ford coil pack can store more energy resulting in a stronger spark but are also prone to overheating and cracking.--- as standard Ford specify a
huge spark plug gap compared to other manufacturers.
Which ever way you go watch you don't use too wide a dwell time as this will cause issues.
