can the origional zetec injection system be used in an MK or will there be clearence issues with the height of the plenum?
will this mean i can use the existing ford zetec wiring and ecu etc?

Its hard to use the standard for ecu etc because of the immobiliser etc.
The plenum wont fit under the bonnet either.

The 2 litre plenum is a bit big but the 1800/1600 plenum is smaller and i've seen one fitted to a 2 litre zetec in a fiesta and the 2 litre
throttle body was on it too(after a bit of fettling)

Using the standard Zetec ECU & injection is not that difficult - as long as it fits!
I don't know about the MK, but I have fitted a Zetec in my Luego using the standard injection set up. It did require one of the engine bay
braces to be moved back about an inch.
If you get the engine out of a Mondeo, it will have the black plastic plenum that goes down the side of the engine. Have a look at the pictures in my
archive to see what I mean.
If it doesn't fit then you can buy a purpose built plenum from from a few places and still retain the standard injection & ECU setup.
The ECU wiring is pretty straightforward - my engine uses the EEC IV ECU for everything and there are no immobiliser problems.
Its not going to be optimum in terms of power etc when compared to a 3rd party ECU & throttle bobies etc. but mine runs very well.
Hope this helps

It was the one on the drivers side at the top. It needed to be moved back about an inch. I was lucky enough to have access to a welder (and someone
who knew how to use it!) so it wasn't too much hassle.
Hope this helps
