IIRC the dizzy still needs to be in place to drive the oil pump.

You can safely remove a redudent dizzy off a Xflow. It's drive does not affect the oil pump unlike on a Pinto.

I turned up an alloy blanking plug with an O ring similiar to the distributor body and attached it with an oval plate secured with a screw at centre and the original monting point for the securing bracket.

Sorry for the kind of hijack. What have people done when fitting megajolt etc to a pinto? Ive got a std dizzy that ive removed the balance weights etc out of and vut the top body off. This just leaves a shortened shaft sticking out. Does this need to be sealed off?

Ive seen the post where someone shortened in right down and fitted a sealed bearing on top but i dont have lather access so looking for a diy solution.

Cheers,
Darren.
