4 chokes are better than 2, thats a fundamental, if the 4 carbs flow more than the twin choke then your on to a winner, so should be OK. Twin 40
webbers on a standard 2.0L capri according to the weber tuning manual ran 32mm chokes, other tuning books recomend choke sizes from 34mm to 36mm with
38mm for the higher tuned Pintos.

do the sums, a pinto on twin 40's with 32mm chokes reving to 5500rpm .
An R6 on (??mm) carbs reving to 12,000rpm
How much air does the R6 pump compared to the pinto? Me thinks an R6 has a bigger inlet to the 40's and pumps lots more air than the pinto...
5500rpm against 12000.
As long as the inlet diameter is 36, 38 or bigger, then no problem.
Latest suzuki 750's have 45mm bodies on them...
Never saw the point on 'twin 40's' when you have to throttle them down with smaller chokes??

Cost: one size fits all; you make 2or 3 body castings instead of many different sized one.
The choking down is to get the right conditions in the carb for petrol vaporisation or something like that.
I don't the same conditions apply to throttle bodies and petrol injection since the petrol is squirted out and vaporised by the injector and is
not dependent on being sucked out of tubes by a vacuum like in a carb.
Bike TB have injectors that have to supply fuel in a very short space of time due to the higher revs, other side of coin bieng the engines are 1/3 ro
1/2 cc of car engines.
600 cc TB are good up to about 200 bhp.
all(?) 600 cc TB are a pair of twin chokes.

thats actually what i thought, they may not have to supply as much air to each induction stroke, but the amount of times they have to supply it is
2fold. I guess they will be fine then, only one way to find out tho!

I have the same thing - R6 carbs but these are going onto a Zetec. The chokes look about 40mm so I'm hoping they will be ok.
I will let you know how I get on!
