Been using the mlv VE analysis prog for a while now and I've found it to be the best of the megasquirt self tune options by far. Funnily enough
when I first ran it, it wanted to weaken most of my map, but after a couple more tuning runs it now only makes minor corrections, both up and down.
Are you sure your map isn't generally on the weak side - what happens if you make the changes it recommends? I found I had to do two or three
tuning run for it to produce a 'settled' map, but the end result is really good.

Hi.
I think I must have something wrong.
This program was recommended to me and I gave it a try with a narrow band lambda sensor. I did a run and ran the analysis it recommended
changes, which I loaded in. And off I went the car ran a lot better I was impressed at the change it had made. The next day I thought I would give it
another go but the car was almost impossible to start and had black smoke pouring out of the exhaust. MLV still recommended making it richer. I
decided to get a wide band sensor and fitted this with an LC-1 and have tried again but the same thing has happened.
It's been six weeks and I think I had a better map settings then than I do now.

Hmm, like you say, it sounds like something amiss in your setup. Have you set it up for the correct sensor type in the 'Calculated fields'
menu?

yep.
I've tightened the exhaust manifold today.
maybe air was leaking in causing false readings.

Strange. I'm sure you're familiar with the usage instructions here :-
http://www.ideasandsolutions.biz/megalogviewer/veAnalysis.html
It's worth persevering to get it working though, because it's a useful bit of kit when you do. 'Fraid my computer skills
aren't good enough to offer any more suggestions Good luck with it anyway....

I found Megalog viewer to work well on my car using a narrowband sensor. It did richen a lot of my map bins when first used but after a few sessions it
seems about right. My car starts well in hot or cold weather and drives with no hesitation or missfires from cold.I log using a palm pda and then feed
it into my laptop to calculate.
