New Book

Called at Martin Keenan's today. (MK Engineering)

He has a full colour proof copy of the new Haynes book for a build based upon a Sierra. Martin built the car featured in the book.

I wish the first or second edition of the original Locost book was as detailed as this book is.
There are full CAD drawings with all the dimensions on them, along with any details of jigs required.
The dreaded wishbone bracket positions are all detailed with dimensions along with an easy jig for setting them on chassis.
It is well thought out and very detailed. I would think no questions would need to be asked. It's all there.

The design is based on single donor and has IRS rear.

All in all a good book and well worth buying when it's out.

I would suspect as this is still a proof at this point, that it will probably be summer before it is out.

Don't count on it, you'll be amazed at how much people don't read correctly, despite having all the information in front of them!!!!

I guess that I'm being dumb, but where on Amazon do you get to pre-order the new edition (instead of the old one)

The book on that link is the new one. The old cover is quite similar with an old guy (Ron Champion) crouching next to a green locost with his son in it.

Got the other book with the green car. It's just that the cover with the yellow car looks familiar. Perhaps it was an ad I saw.

Or a premenition "The comming of the new book"

If thats the new one I will get it ordered.

Thanks

My supplier just sent me this mail so it looks like i'm going to have to try amazon or WHSmiths who managed to get the keith tanner book pretty easily

Mail reads

Dear Robert

I'm afraid we've been trying to get hold of Build Your Own Sports Car (Catalog Number:1844253910) for some time now, but unfortunately we have now learnt that our suppliers have withdrawn this item from sale.

I'm very sorry that we will not be able to fulfil your order for this item but we are certain that we will not be able to get any more of it. We have now removed it from our site.

As we cannot get this item, we have removed it from your order. If you had other items on this order they will not have been affected and will still be sent to you as normal.

You can view and check the latest status of your order at http://www.dvd.co.uk/account.

Once again, please accept our apologies and I hope that this has not caused too much inconvenience.

Kind regards,

Customer Services

Yes chris i reckon your right re old book new book,i'll stick with amazon and see what happens.

Did that catalogue number 1844253910 match the new book ?

It doesnt relate to the 1st or 2nd edition,i'm presuming its a DVD.co.uk problem.
