Talked over a few issues raised by this thread with one of Fords top men and to get much further you will need to get past the Main dealer level of
ECU programming, probably need some serious inside information.
He did ask a serious point about Emmisions as Fords using the Duratec also take into account the inertia of the vehicle and as Kit cars are usually
half the weight of the smallest Ford there are issues there. Also the ABS is part of the system.
Interesting thread and great knowledge and determination, so glad i am building with a Pinto for SVA.

Thanks Snapper.
Collectively we were aware you need to dig deep into the ECU to "turn things off".
I guess mimicking the CanBus stuff is the best we can do. There are people State side who think they can get deeper into the ECU but I don't
know. Either way they want a lot of money and it's not a Locost solution.
As for the emissions, I guess the Aussie government will accept a car with OEM ECU so long as the car met the correct targets the day it was put out
of the factory.
Lets face it, it should be very low fuel usage compared to the original car for same distance travelled.
As amateurs we are doing Ford a favour by giving street cred for their Duratec. The only way to get help is to get someone internally at Ford
passionate. My guess is they have enough on there plate.
