why does sky keep doing this?

any one else had this problem?

got one sky plus box, and one normal box, multi room set up, both boxes on 1 satalite.

^ link for a video of what it does

this is the sky plus box. just stops and starts all the time. can't be the signal as the other box is fine (well, was, as it was until last night, now it says no satalite signal, but the sky plus isn't any worse

I have no answers I am afraid, but I sypathise with your annoyance...

My sky plus does the same. Virtually guarentee that everything that is recorded has a chunk where the audio is choppy and doesn't match the video... Very frustrating!

I also get where you hit plat, it runs for 5 seconds then locks up. Have to stop and re-start the playback to get it to work...

We've got a Virgin V+ box and they're b*llocks too - got 'upgraded' about 5 months ago when we moved house and I think we're on our 5th box now and this one is going tits up as we speak. Most Discovery channels either don't work or are extremely pixilated but they're fine on the original box from the old house we now have in the bedroom on the came cable connection...... The only good thing is Virgin just come round and give us a new box now no questions asked BUT you loose all your recorded stuff every time

just went up there and had a look, the satalite dish input 2 cable was barely in its connector. the cable basically fell out when i turned the box around. shoved it back in (after unscrewing the connector itselfto have a look)

think the installer needs to come back and have another look at his wiring

seems alright now! thanks for your help

still need to have a look at the normal sky box, reckons its got no signal, but still knows what the schedule is though

With my sky, the picture and sound keep going slightly out of sync recently. Anyone else had this problem?

The connections in the plugs are a push fit, not a soldered connection anymore.
Thus, chocolate fireguard springs to mind.

Snap! Although I do think it is actually the new telly, if I turn the surround sound on whilst the telly sound is still turned up you can hear the time difference between the two
