Fuel Tank design give me your opinion
O.k. So bought an all in one in tank pump breather and sender unit from an impreza but it is a bit tall. So have designed a tank so that I can use
it. What do you think? How many problems am I going to have?
The tank has a sump for the pickup and I thought I would take the filler neck straight up to aid with filling seeing as the tank will be too high to
get the filler out the back panel. Gives me about 7 gallons though!

Why not go wider and take each side right to the backward sloping chassis diagonal?
Apart from that, looks ok and a vertical filler is definately a good idea - something I wish I'd done.

Do you know if the sender will work on the tilt?...
Looks good apart from that - Are you going to do a little baffling around the bottom of the pump pickup?

I can't go the full width because the rear stays get in the way for getting it in and out. The full width would be 720mm and I can only use 650
of this....
Checked the sender and seems to work o.k. on the tilt....
thanks for the comments...keep em coming please...

With the pump mounted at that angle will the pick up at the higher side suck in air when fuel level drops effectively reducing tank volume?

Don't suppose you can shorten the pipes etc. under the flange plate or is that too easy?
Cheers, Pewe

I could shorten the bracket and straighten it up but at the moment the bracket is passivated so not to rust. If I cut the bracket then the weld to
join it back together could go rusty.......
