LC1 - ok to leave in?
Hi,
I am wiring up an LC1 to a MSnSE via a relay board and wanted to check that it was ok to leave the LC1 connected permenantly? Or should I wire it up
to be removed once I have the engine running and set up?

If you're talking about the wideband o2 sensor - you wouldnt normally run with a wideband all the time - just for tuning initially then use an
average narrow band to run with the rest of the time.
Having said that wideband o2 sensors have come down a lot in price lately....
If it were me though and the MS supported the narrow band sensor - Id run that.

It'll be fine to leave in permanently, a good deal of tintops these days have widebands and they're obviously not going to get changed out
after a bit of a run.
If you don't have a cat then narrowband sensors are about as useless as a chocolate teapot, once you've got your tuning down you might as
well just fit a blanking plug rather than a narrowband. Of course, if you're anything like me you'll be forever fiddling, so it just
won't come out anyway.
Unless you have another project you were wanting to use the wideband on then you're better off leaving it on the car than on a shelf.

Agreed with the above, although unless you're fiddling often, datalogging or running closed loop all the time, you may as well take it off. If
you do take it off, blank off the hole with a spark plug and second coil attached to a switch....

Hi there,
leave it in permanently as you can use the AFR target table so the MS ECU will adjust the PW to get to the correct AFR depending on engine load and
speed, this is a major advantage of having a wideband over a narrow band!!

The sensor that comes with the LC1 is a standard OEM part, so it should be good for big mileages providing you are running standard unleaded fuel, and
it's not subject to very high exhaust temperatures and sustained rich mixtures.
