What setup on a zetec

Carbs and Megajolt

-or-

Throttle bodies and megasquirt running one of the codes to fire the ignition directly.

I can see a way to doing the latter at a
Zil price level.

Megajolt and carbs are going to be the cheaper option.

I've gone for Throttle bodies and megasquirt though done for about £400

I'm hoping the injection makes life easier in the long run, but remember you need injection fuel pump and return fuel lines, and possibly a swirl pot.

Both are going to be useable options though

having fun on a budget

Ok, decision made.

Bought some throttle bodies.

The engine will be a 1.8 zetec and the bodies I have bought are 36mm ones which I reckon is right on the money.

My old 1.6 in the last Sylva ran 32mm chokes in 45 Dellorto DHLAS and was lovely and tractable.

Now for the ECU.
