Locost plastic fuel tank
I wasnt sure where to put this.
Can anyone reccommend somewhere to get a plastic fuel tank, locost as poss. Money is tight at the mo Must be suitiable for fuel injection and
preferably quite big. My engine isnt the most fuel efficient of them all but i havnt build the back end of the car yet so i have no specific size in
mind.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Get an alloy one - seriously - save up the extra.
There's been quite a few reports of the plastic ones leaking and it's right behind your seat - you don't want to become BBQ
Honestly, some things are worth doing Hi-Cost and a foam filled tank would be one of these
Just my opinion though - I have some measurements for a decent sized tank in my archive - I'm sure you could get one made and welded for Circa
£60
Cheers,
M

Yours for 80 quid if you want.
Thank's, Joe

Sorry, forgot to mention, i want a plastic one incase i dont get it finished before the new IVA comes into force and apparently a plastic fuel tank
may be a requirment

I think you will find that this is a misunderstanding, there IS a note that IF a tank is plastic that it must meet certain criteria. But nothing that
says it must be plastic.

As above. If you want to be sure of passing IVA - DON'T get a plastic tank.
The only mention of plastic tanks is to say that if you have got one it must be e-marked / approved. I doubt such a thing exists except for
tanks from mass-produce vehicles.

Does deneo still make tanks for people?
See this thread for some possible suppliers.

Welderman has ntdwm but strikes me that his £80 for an ali. tank with fittings has to be a good price if it's the right size, internally baffled
and swirl potted which I suspect it is. Cost me £120 for a similar tank. Unless your'es ace welding ali. is pretty diff.
