sierra cosworth lsd half shaft torq bolts
I have tried in vain to get hold of 2 torq bolts for a sierra cosworth lsd half shaft.
I put an an appeal on here a while ago but I didn't mention it was a cosworth lsd rather than a standard sierra one and what I didn't know
was that the bolts are different sizes for the cosworth one, they are bigger and longer than the standard sierra ones.
I have tried a ford dealers and have been told that ford no longer stock the cosworth variety although they stock the standard sierra lsd bolts.
Can anyone please help me to locate 2 of these bolts, used is fine.
Many thanks
Ed.

Have you tried your local fastener suppliers, (Not B&Q etc) Take one as a pattern . Probably cheaper than Ford

Yes I got the ones you posted but they were not cosworth ones,my mistake I didn't know there was a difference until I got them and I
didn't mention that the lsd diff and halfshafts were off a cosworth and not a standard sierra.

I thiink they are M6 thread.
I replaced all mine with 12.9 (grade) Cap head (allen) screws. Have done 4k miles without any problems, and thats with a V8 under the bonnet. 50mm
long sounds about right
Cheaper than the ford ones and easier to get out again.
EDIT:
I got them from Makays - East Road in Cambridge

no they are not m6 , that is the size of the threads of the bolts on the standard sierra bolt on half shafts, the cosworth ones are bigger than this
the problem I've got I can get hold of standard ones but not the cosworth ones

Ah... Not aware of the Cossie bolts.
OK thay are not M6, maybe M8??
However, just take an old one into a decent nut and bolt place and get the same length and thread size.
I was told to use 12.9 grade Hex Cap head bolts. They have been ok with the V8 for two seasons and 4K+ miles. (Sierra 4x4 LSD)
I expect that you can get the size you need in 12.9 grade. I dont think 8.8 grade is good enough
There is a nut and bolt specialist on the the Industrial Estate at Linton just south of Cambridge. Dont know the name, but Mackays (East Road) in
Cambridge suggested them for the more obscure bolts etc. Mackays had M6 in 12.9 grade. Give them a ring - 01223 517000. I would expect the thread to
be metric... try ordingary bolts onf known threads to get the thread size, then buy the bolts you need.
