Anyone owned a midget?
Iv just brought one but im puzzled as to what the pully thing and the button obove it on the far left of the dashboard do or are supposed to do. The
button has what looks like a speedometer on it.
Sorry for the technicle term 'pully thing'
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

is that not the heater control, can you see it on here? though I don't think so, best thing is to look behind and see what's its connected
too...

You have to remember these cars were modified all the time using what ever items they could get so there are loads of variations. My friend had a
midget, funny little thing to drive, brakes were awful but it handled not to bad

Could be the dash illumination dimmer, by far left do you mean passenger side? or to the left of the drivers bit?

passenger ejector seat!

does it look like
this sorry the pic is so big, it's the only one I found.
I still can't be massively helpful because I've never actually been in a midge but the knob does look like a rheostat for the interior
lights - the reason you won't have worked this out for yourself is because they don't work. just jiggle it until you get some kind of
lighting in the dials and then NEVER TOUCH IT AGAIN! and if that doesn't work just bridge the connections on the back of it. Don't know
about the switch, wipers?

the switch with the speedo on is to turn your dash illumination off and on, the knob below is for the heater, pull to open the heater flaps and turn
to switch the blower on

If it is the same as the TR6 the dial with the speedo on is the rehostat (SP) or dimmer for adjusting the brightness of the lights on your dashboard
& the "pull out" knob is for opening the flaps on the heater matrix
Damn beaten too it

The youth of today, I dispair
You pull it out and hang your handbag on it.
It is a midgit after all.
If it was an MGB its for your flat cap.

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
