Ebay buy turns out good
After a flight to Glasgow and a 500 odd mile return drive.
I am now the proud owner of this.
1975 Opel Manta a series.
Fully restored and resprayed shell last year.
B series rear axle.
2.0 xe red top with uprated cams and group n chip.
Full stainless free flow system.
Adjustable coil overs all round.
Brand new alloys and tyres.
Didn't miss a beat all the way home.
Comfortable drive, 30 odd to the gallon if you're easy with the loud pedal, corners like it's on rails and goes like stink.
Just been in contact with SBD who reckon I should see 240bhp with a set of throttle bodies and ecu
Got back last night and have been driving it non stop since I finished work today at 3.

Being a bit partial to escorts and Anglia's how do they compare price wise?

Set me back 300 quid more than the mk2 escort.
Driving and handling wise, it's in a different league to the scrote.
More comfortable, more stable, much more leg room being 6'2.
I'd have to through another 3 grand or more at the escort to get it anywhere near the Manta.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Very, very tasteful. Always good to go for something a little less obvious than the usual stuff.
Very nice indeed

That is really really nice. And should be reliable too given the engine.
A perfect mix of style/power/reliability.

A: yes cheers
