It is the zetec engine which has the edis system for ignition, the advance is controlled by the engine management, but the trigger is done via a crank sensor and the edis module. It is a flat module with a multiplug connector, and says motocraft on it.
heres one

I think they were on the cars older thena the Mondeo. Older Escorts, Orion etc. Newer cars still use it but its built into the ECU.
Someones else will give you a more definate answer but you can always buy one from www.triggerwheels.com if you cannot be bothered to look.

I think you need to be looking at CVH powered Escorts & Fiestas.
On the inner wing.

I think they may be in the wheel arch under he cover on the passenger side. Got to be honest though when I looked in the scrap yard I couldn't find one either so I bought one from ebay. I looked on Mondeos hence my suspicion that they have internal edis.

Ford often fitted what ever came to hand.
Its hard to say what car to look at.

Mondeos automatic mk1 sit just behind the inlet manifold.
Fiestas often with ohv or cvh engine. on the near side wing just behind the headlamp or behind the air filter smack in the middle.

I have seen them On mondeo's, Sierra's, Escorts mk4,5,6 Fiesta's mk2,3,4 Orion's and more.

Offer still stands £10 posted to you I have a few
