I have a friend who is considering converting a crossflow Westie to bike power but is balking at Westfield's prices for the conversion parts, anyone know of a more Locost way of achieving this ??

The best bet is to get someone like me in your area to do the work. A frame will be needed for mounting the engine, prop will need to be made with centre bearing, exhaust, prop adapter, cooling will all need sorting as well as a reverse system if you want one! There will be other bits and bobs like fuel pumps, speedometer, rev counter etc. to sort out as well no doubt.
