I have a friend who is going to fabricate me a Ali header tank but i'm just a little worried about something.

Is there any issues regarding the MOT if you have a Ali Header tank? Because i assume there is no good way of checking the levels apart from looking down the neck. Is there any other way of checking the level?

Why would an MOT inspector check you have water in your cooling system?

MOT's are about confirming that vehicles are of a certain safe standard. Your cars cooling system doesn't come into the equation.

Ali is fine, no requirement for plastic, though you can get fluid level switches and sight glass tubes for them if needed

I was unsure, I didn't want to get it done and the MOT test say "You need to have......" Thought id ask first.

yeah that would be cool. is he making it to your spec? is it a screw on cap he's using (like vauxhall or ford) or the quarter turn bayonet caps?
sorry to ask all these questions, just getting a bit excited about getting one lol
