canvas print
55ant - 20/1/10 at 01:57 PM

Hi all,

just had a new sofa delivered and now the living room is finished, but the wall behind the sofa is now looking a bit big and bare, so i have been told to get a canvas print, it can be anything i like, but needs to be black and white,

i like the scenery prints of new york etc, but an automotive one would be cool, i saw one in ikea quite a while ago with an old corvette (maybe 1969) that was really cool,

only looking to spend about £50 so tim layzell is out of the picture! anyone seen anything around?

I have been looking for the exact same thing today.

But i am after images of London. Black and white but some colour would be nice.

And obviously much less than 50 quid as well.

No luck so far

Just produce your own image in photoshop or similar in black and white then get one of these many companies to print it on canvas for you.

no personal experience of them myself but I keep seeing vans around with www.prints2impress.co.uk on, although it could be .com, and have been thinking about giving them a go. Just send them your photo, choose your canvas size and they'll do the rest.

Alternatively tesco photo do a similar service and I thought they were slightly cheaper too.

There's no mention of canvas prints but some of this stuff is fab:
miha-furlan-motorsport-art

I'm sure that my bookmark came from a post on here originally!

Most of the companies that do canvas prints cost an arm and a leg. Some ask for the liver or kidneys as well.

Yep that's probably from a couple of posts I have put on here regarding the blog.

His work seems really good value for money and quite a unique style!

As I have previously said, I have absolutely no association with the artist!

Another option is vinyl room graphics. There is a seller on ebay doing some quite nice ones including a tube map and a window with blinds on it which I thought was cool!

Hi,

The company I work for do motorsport canvas prints in various sizes, bikes and cars. We have had a few made to put up around the office and the print quality is very good and some of the images in our catalogue are impressive. We've not been selling them for long but over the coming months hope to add more artists and their work to the product range. Have a look here if you're interested:

Cheers

A mate took this one:

I'm sure he'd give you a higher res copy if you liked it?

Nice picture. Not something that my wife would approve.

Forgot to add that the ones that I am after are about 1.6m by 1.2m

I think he can supply the monster pic in max res too from his spangly fancy camera
I think he said it was a pic of canary wharf when they were pulling some buildings down

I did this for a scanned postcard of my gran's brother winning the 1929 sidecar tt. Cost nearer the ton mark but was well impressed, its about double a.4 size whatever that is, from a postcard.sure it's cheaper now, especially from a decent quality image to begin with.

DorsetStrider - 20/1/10 at 11:38 PM

There's a company in Norfolk that a saw advertised/featured in one of the kit car mags a while ago. They do canvas prints of YOUR car.

I think their name was ignis photography or something like that. It might be worth mentioning this site and the mag (I think it was total kit car) as they might give some sort of discount.

DorsetStrider - 20/1/10 at 11:43 PM

Just done some checking... they are called ignis Photography.

But they have a subsidery business dealing with automotive work, that's called ignition.

THIS is the site for automotive photography.

They did a 5 page spread and the cover for Jan's kit car mag as well.

Paul l did an black and white a3 canvas for from high quality picture (DSLR) I took of my bro and wife at their wedding.

Quality was very good and cost £30 ish if I remeber correctly.

My now Sister in law loved it so much it has gone up pride of place in the living room and the £x hundred pound official one has gone on the side board.

regards
