decent web design program
skydivepaul - 28/8/07 at 09:18 PM

Can anyone recommend a good / cheap or free web page design program.
i used to use dreamweaver and i got used to the way it works and made a few half decent websites. unfortunatley my copy of dreamweaver as ...............ahem.............expired.

i have tried NVU as it was free, but i also thought it was crap and couldnt work it.
i need something that will allow me to make simple web pages nothing fancy but i dont want to spend 6 months learning how to use it

thanks in advance

Paul

AOL press. Years old was actualy OK.

I use editplus for writing code then just keep refreshing IE. Much the same as dreamweaver

Webplus is the one I used to use when starting off building. It made a decent job Free download@ <http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/WebPlus/default.asp>

EDIT URL deleted - I clicked on it before posting & it took me to my old comedy site. It was free hosting tho; so that might explain it.

I use Dreamweaver CS3 now... it's much the same. If you buy "Dreamweaver for Idiots" you get a student version free as I recall...

U2U sent...

Check out www.serif.com, for WebPlus 10. May not be free, but ask them for a quote, explaining that your hobby is designing wb pages.

Alrthough I am not a microsoft fan. Try publisher; it's so simple to use.

Try this:

http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

It's a notepad that recognizes html and a lot of other coding languages.

I use Vim, it's another advanced text editor like the one above.

Notepad? That's for fags. Use VI now that's a proper text editior!
