ET(s)/Offset(s) for a Vortx???
ElmrPhD - 12/1/13 at 05:26 PM

Hi all,

From reading old posts, it appears that the front wheels need spacers in order to get the track wider at the front than the rear. Well, in Holland, wheel spacers will cause a fail of the annual "MOT"/inspection. So...should I order 2 different offsets (18 or 19 for the front, 30 or so for the Sierra rear) when I go to order my wheels?

Thanks!!

et 23 is correct for the vortx. you dontneed to widen the track up front.
the caterham 8 spokes fit perfectly on the mnr. i had 6" fronts 8" rears et23 offset and thought the 13" cat wheels looked fantastic, very light too at just over 5kg a corner

Could you fit spacers behind the discs (and callipers).?

Loggyboy, You're kidding, right?

I COULD, however, wind out the heim/rose joints on the wishbones (and pushrod) to stick the whole assembly further out a few mm...

And don't think I'm above such tomfoolery!

steve. why are you wanting to widen the front track width. as far as i can remember, the car is designed to be only slightly wider at the front than the rear, only a few mm!

Hi Daniel,

It's not that I "want" to widen the front, but rather that I had read that the Nordons themselves had suggested it. Therefore, if the (suspension) parts in the MNR kit did not already account for this, it seemed to me that it would be better to get the correct front and rear offsets in the wheels, rather than ADD spacers after the fact. Ya know? I would, of course, prefer to not waste any time worrying about this...
Still, when I figure out how, I'll measure the actual front and rear widths (of my particular kit) and submit that to MNR for their comments, but I wanted to see what the collective wisdom of this forum had to say, first.
Haven't yet purchased my wheels, as you might've guessed.
Cheers,
