REAR LIGHTS
welderman - 7/11/08 at 08:20 PM

hi all, not touched the car for a month it seems, im about to drill the holes for my rear lights, hella leds all in one.
Can these be fitted flush to the bodywork maening they are not level.

Fitting to a Fury?.

My rear lights weren't vertical. I think as long as they aren't at a silly angle and have curved lenses so they aren't just pointing skywards you should be OK. AFAIK the book doesn't really mention the angle of mounting of the rear lights, just visivbilty.

bugger it drilled one.
So is it ok to flush mount these, i did read somewhere that the fog is the only one that has to be level. Rescued attachment Image012.jpg

fog light needs to be vertical

welderman - 7/11/08 at 08:40 PM

so the rear brake / indicator / side light as in picture is ok?.
Right off to drill the other now, more pictures to follow(sorr), lol.

In the SVA manual there is a page that shows the angles and distances light need to be seen from. I think it looks quite smart flush

blakep82 - 7/11/08 at 08:42 PM

i think so. i'm no expert, but i'm pretty sure the fog light is the only one which HAS to be vertical.

Look good flush.

Is the blackand white job a new Westfield? Want one!

IDONTBELEIVEIT - 7/11/08 at 10:01 PM

yep

lens surface of fog lamp must be vertical.

check your positions accoding to this; rear end of 7 type car shown but the numbers still apply to yours.

Looking good Joe. Is the body fitted or just sat on?

Here's mine for comparison. Different (bigger and deeper) lamps that wouldn't have looked as good flush as yours...

Looks really great Joe!

I've ordered my body now so I'll be needing new rear lights now too!
