Morning all
Noticed on Saturday when calibrating the speedo that I keep leaving the indicators on.
I'm thinking of wiring in a buzzer or something so I can hear it as I can't hear the relay and in daylight the light on the dash isn't
particularly clear.
What would be the easiest way to wire in a buzzer that'll sound if either direction is selected.
Please bear in mind that I'm a complete fool with electrics so the simpler the better and if it involves relays the pin numbers would be much
appreciated.
Many thanks
Nigel
What I used on my bike was a cheep Maplin buzzer,
One wire goes to earth, the other goes to the flasher relay,
Sorry can't remember which terminal off hand.

WOT he said.
I would fit this <-------

no, not a POLO mint but a miniature buzzer that has a loud but pleasant75dB tone and operating from a 12Vdc supply. It is only 7mm highwhen
mounted on thePCB. It will work with supply voltages ranging from 3 to 24Vdc.
The buzzer is wired to 0 V and other end goes to the relay. Without knowing what flasher relay you are using, it is not possible to say the pin
number. More info. required but it is the wire that goes to the indicator stalk.
I doubt the buzzer will draw enough current to affect the flash rate.

Although the piezoelectric transducer recommended is fine and lightweight, i would go for a lights on reminder from another car that makes a little
bit better noise and not a constant mpiiiiippppppppppppp
My clio MK1 has a nice sound but obviously othe cars might have better and is a nice little sort of relay in the fuse compartment.
cheers all, I take it that the buzzer goes on and off though when wired through the indicator flasher relay rather than staying on constantly for the
duration that the indicator is on?
Cheers
Nigel
ggod point ^^^ it can be wired either way.
maybe a reversing relay would do the job withou having to fit buzzers?

Fantastic, I actually understand how to wire this up. Cheers all at least it should stop me driving round everwhere with my indicators on.
Hope you can all appreciate this, cast your mind back to when you first drove your car. Even though the mechanics of driving are exactly the same the
lack of windscreen, feeling of speed etc makes it feel remarkably like driving for the first time and stupid things like leaving indicators on etc. as
your busy enjoying yourself
FANTASTC fun though, can't wait to be able to go out whenever I feel like it
you can also use a lights on audible relay as found in most cars, these have a pleasent sounding dong to them.
mines from the sierra found at the steering shroud.
Motor World/ Charlie Browns sell a kit for only a few quid with wiring instructions, connectors the lot. I installed one a few years back and works really well.
I know its an old post,
but anyone know how to wire it so that the buzzer comes on after a certain number of flashes.
i.e. it only warns if you have forgotten to cancel the indicators.
The alternative is to also connect it to the brake light so that indicator+brake=no sound.
